Fire Piston

For sale is one (1) deluxe fire piston fire starter - Finished in a durable yet attractive black anodized coating. We oversaw the manufacturing of these items and our intention was to improve upon the existing designs currently available on the market and to fix the problems we encountered during their use. This fire piston features large knobs on both the cylinder and the piston so you can stabilize it on surfaces when driving the piston and because of this, you can actually ignite char cloth in this piston right in your hands with ease. Other fire Pistons have simple rounded edges which are extremely uncomfortable to use and very difficult to keep stable. These issues have been resolved with this model - it is comfortable to use, aesthetic, light weight and highly effective. This can be made very easily and inexpensively or purchased very economically from several sources. 1. Tear off a small piece of char cloth and insert it into the end of the piston (near the o-rings).2. Insert piston into cylinder until o-rings have been fully inserted. 3. Quickly and sharply push piston into cylinder and remove piston. At this point you should have glowing red char cloth - proceed from this point to light kindling as you would with any other fire source. Maintenance:It is important to keep the o-rings lubricated for normal function. We recommend petroleum jelly for seal lubricant. Simply apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to the o-rings directly, insert piston into cylinder, remove and wipe excess. You should do this any time you feel that the fire piston is not operating smoothly.
