If you Buy this Listing You will Receive ONE (1) NEW Matched WHITE OAK Ferrocerrium Firesteel #22 Approx., 6 inches long Total White Oak FireSteel + White Oak Stiker with P-38 (GI Can Opener) + Paracord too! Note: The first picture that you see is the actual Firesteel that you will Receive These matched wood fired steels have the ferrocerium Rod and striker handles turned from a single blank of wood, insuring a perfect grain and color match. They are shaped and sanded to a 400 grit finish, and sawed apart. The high speed steel 1/8 " square high speed tool steel striker is then pressed into a 3/8" diameter delrin socket and glued into the striker handle, and the 5/16" diameter ferrocerium rod is glued into it's handle. A screw eye is threaded into each handle and both handles are finished with 3 coats of hand brushed lacquer. The handles are then tied together with approx., 14 inches of paracord in the colors of the Vietnam Service Ribbon( Red, Yellow and Green) with a P-38 can opener between them. The entire process is done by hand on my wood lathe and bench top mental lathe. Finished dimensions will vary slightly. All Ferrocerium Rods will have at least 2 inches of usable Rod and all Strikers will have at least 1 inch of 1/8" square high speed steel tool bit exposed to strike sparks from the ferrocerium rod. You should generate a shower of big bright hot sparks and the cotton ball should burst into flame and burn 20 seconds to well over a minute depending on how much petroleum jelly you used. You may not get many sparks the first few times (it does take a little practice) but, as you gain experience you will find yourself making fire with nearly every strike! Cotton balls and petroleum jelly are cheap and pack small, but this fire steel will also ignite larger, less flammable kindling... Try it on dry grass, leaves, cloth.... things you might have to light in a real emergency if only so you'll know you can!
